From January to May 2025, Azerbaijan exported 291,400 tons of fruits and vegetables worth $299.282 million, APA-Economics reports, citing calculations based on data from the State Customs Committee.
Compared to the same period last year, the export value increased by 19.1% or $48 million, while the volume rose by 26.2% or 60,500 tons. In the first five months of 2024, the country exported 230,900 tons of fruits and vegetables worth $251.28 million.
Among the main exported products were tomatoes valued at $113.8 million (98,700 tons), hazelnuts worth $65.2 million (9,400 tons), persimmons totaling $32.9 million (45,800 tons), apples at $32.3 million (46,600 tons), potatoes worth $22.5 million (56,800 tons), and pomegranates valued at $4.3 million (5,000 tons).
During the reporting period, fruits and vegetables accounted for 2.72% of Azerbaijan’s total exports and 21.26% of the country’s non-oil exports.
