Azerbaijan discusses opportunities for expanding cooperation in field of taxation with UK

The Head of the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy, Orkhan Nazarli, held a meeting with experts Anthony Clark and Stephen Denyer from the UK’s Tax and Customs Administration (HMRC) within the framework of the Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB), the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy told APA.

The diuscussions were made on the priority areas for the development of bilateral relations, opportunities for strengthening partnerships, and promoting international cooperation at the meeting. The parties exchanged views on the diversification of joint activities and the exchange of tax-related experiences at the bilateral level.

During the meeting, partnership initiatives within the framework of theTax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB) Program have been reviewed in the areas such as joint cooperation, mutual information exchange, combating tax evasion, regulating transfer pricing, and improving tax administration. It was emphasized that strengthening relations is crucial for the development of tax systems in both countries, as well as for enhancing economic practices and the investment climate. The necessity of utilizing existing potential for increasing joint initiatives in tax administration was stressed, and discussions were held on other issues of mutual interest. The participants of the meeting noted that the initiatives contributing to the development of joint cooperation will continue.
