Azerbaijan created nearly 50,000 new jobs in country in first half of 2025

In January–June of 2025, 48.9 thousand new jobs were created in Azerbaijan, APA-Economics reports citing the State Statistical Committee.

According to the information, 92.1 percent of the jobs created during this period were opened in the non-state sector. Of the newly created jobs, 74.7 percent were in Baku city, 1.1 percent in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and 24.2 percent in other regions, including 8.3 percent in the Absheron-Khizi, 2.6 percent in the Guba-Khachmaz, 2.5 percent in the Shaki-Zagatala, 2.3 percent in the Ganja-Dashkasan, 2.1 percent in Karabakh, 1.4 percent in the Lankaran-Astara, 1.1 percent in the Central Aran, 1.1 percent in the Eastern Zangezur, 1.0 percent in the Shirvan-Salyan, 0.8 percent in the Gazakh-Tovuz, 0.5 percent in the Mountainous Shirvan, and 0.5 percent in the Mil-Mughan economic regions.

Of the newly opened jobs, 10.8 percent were in newly established enterprises and organizations, 87.6 percent in existing enterprises and organizations, 0.5 percent in enterprises and organizations that resumed operations, and 1.1 percent were created under other measures.
