Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with a delegation led by the World Bank's Regional Director for Welfare in Europe and Central Asia, Asad Alam, the Ministry told APA-Economics.
The meeting emphasized the successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank. Information was shared about the development of business in the country, the promotion of the non-oil and gas sector, the encouragement of a green and export-oriented economy, and the support for entrepreneurship, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises. The discussion also touched on the challenges and opportunities in these areas.
The sides discussed the importance of national economic development, the role of the private sector, the promotion of development-oriented investments, and the support for innovation initiatives.
They also exchanged views on the directions planned to be included in the draft “Strategy for the Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027–2030,” the improvement of the business environment, and the promotion of sustainable economic growth and employment. In addition, they reviewed opportunities for applying the results of international analyses on intensive business development and research methodologies on private sector stimulation in Azerbaijan.
