Azerbaijan and Türkiye sign 2026 work plan on cooperation in statistics

The delegation led by Chairman of the State Statistical Committee Azer Mursaguliyev has visited Türkiye, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.

During the meeting held by the Azerbaijani delegation at the Turkish Statistical Institute, the heads of the statistical bodies of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, A. Mursaguliyev and E. Çetinkaya, signed the 2026 Work Plan based on the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Türkiye on cooperation in the field of statistics,” signed on October 3, 2025 and approved by Decree No. 534 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 24, 2025.

At the same time, during the meeting, the importance of expanding cooperation in the field of statistics between the two countries and strengthening the exchange of mutual experience was emphasized. Within the framework of the Work Plan, attention was focused on the fields of agricultural and industrial statistics, as well as the statistical measurement of the digital economy, the implementation of innovations envisaged in the System of National Accounts 2025 (SNA 2025), and the exchange of experience on bilateral and multilateral international relations.
