In January-June 2024, the average monthly nominal salary of employees in Azerbaijan's economy increased by 8.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 1002.8 manats, APA-Economics reports citing Azerbaijan's State Statistical Committee.
Noted that as of July 1, 2024, the number of employees in the Azerbaijan's economy was 1,760.8 thousand, with 887.5 thousand working in the public sector and 873.3 thousand in the private sector.
Reported that 18.8% of wage earners were engaged in trade; vehicle repair, 18.5% in education, 12.8% in industry, 8.3% in healthcare and social services, 7.0% in construction, 6.4% in public administration and defense; social security, 4.3% in transportation and warehousing, 3.8% in professional, scientific, and technical activities, 3.3% in agriculture, forestry, and fishing, 2.1% in finance and insurance activities, and 14.7% in other sectors of the economy.
