On February 16, the 41st session of the General Assembly of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development was held in the city of Mecca within the framework of the 3rd Mecca Halal Forum, APA-Economics reports.
A delegation led by the President of the Azerbaijan Confederation of Entrepreneurs, Mammad Musayev, took part in the meeting.
According to the information, the session was declared open by the Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Director,s Abdullah Saleh Kamel. In his opening speech, Abdullah Saleh Kamel emphasized that since its establishment, the Chamber has gone through significant development and expressed expectations for more efficient activity and successful results from the newly formed Board of Directors representing countries from around the world. He presented the Chamber’s annual activity report, noted that new projects are being prepared for the upcoming period, and wished progress and peace to the member states.
During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on the issues included in the agenda. As a result of the vote, Abdullah Saleh Kamel was re-elected as head of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development.
Within the framework of the General Assembly, the Chamber’s overall budget, as well as budget packages for various projects, were presented, and member states were provided with detailed information about the events planned for implementation in 2026. It was also announced that Kenya was accepted as a new member of the Chamber.
During the discussions, it was also included in the Chamber’s official events plan that the Sustainable Agriculture Exhibition will be held in Baku on May 5–8, 2026.
