1,545 foreign-invested businesses registered in Azerbaijan over past year

As of January 1, 2025, 87 percent of the 1,597,229 taxpayers registered in the Azerbaijani republic were individuals, 13 percent were legal entities and other organizations, Azerbaijan's State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy told APA-Economics.

Compared to the beginning of 2024, the total number of taxpayers increased by 5.4 percent, including the number of individuals by 5.1 percent, and the number of legal entities by 7.3 percent.

Noted that the number of registered commercial entities as of January 1, 2025 was 190,367 units, which is 8 percent more than the previous year.

In 2024, 14,441 units of commercial entities passed state registration, of which 89.3 percent (12,896) were institutions with local investment, and 10.7 percent (1,545) were institutions with foreign investment. 83.4 percent of commercial entities that have undergone state registration were registered electronically, and 16.6 percent were registered on the basis of applications submitted on paper.
