A number of meetings, as well as the 10th meeting of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, were held as part of a working visit by a delegation led by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov to the Swiss Confederation, the Ministry of Economy said, APA-Economics reports.
President of the Swiss Confederation and Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research Guy Parmelin received Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov.
During the meeting, issues on the agenda of Azerbaijan-Switzerland relations were discussed. It was emphasized that the strong bilateral relations between the two countries are based on mutual respect and trust, and that there are broad opportunities for further developing the partnership in the coming period.
Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Andrea Rauber Saxer, Delegate of the Swiss Federal Council for Trade Agreements and Head of the Bilateral Economic Relations Division at the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs.
As part of the visit, the 10th meeting of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Swiss Federal Council was held.
New prospects for cooperation in industry, energy, the digital economy, innovation, agriculture, and tourism were highlighted. The opportunities created for foreign partners by Azerbaijan's favorable investment environment, strategic transport links, green energy potential, and measures implemented in the field of digital transformation were emphasized. State support mechanisms applied for business development in the country, including in the Garabagh and East Zangezur economic regions, were also highlighted.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Protocol of the 10th meeting of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Swiss Federal Council was signed.
