BP-Azerbaijan announces 5th Biodiversity Competition Award

Today, BP-Azerbaijan has announced the 5th Biodiversity Competition award in Azerbaijan in the theme of Biodiversity in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
Some 82 applications were submitted to the competition by the deadline of August 15, 2006-61 projects from 46 organizations and 21 articles from 10 eco-journalists.
As a result od the multi-stage evolution process the main prize of this yearâ€™s competition has been awarded to the Society of Zoologists of Azerbaijan for the project â€œLaying the foundation of the Monitoring of Bezoar Goat (Capra Aegagrus) and Maufflon (Ovis Orientalis) in Azerbaijan and the Development of Actrion Plan to Preserve These Speciesâ€?. The value of the project is $18.670.
The second price, and an award of $1.500 goes to the non-governmental organization â€œEcostyle-Azerbaijanâ€? for their project â€œChampion Trees of Azerbaijanâ€?.
The third prize and an award of $1,000 goes to the Society of Zoologists of Azerbaijan for their proposal entitled â€œThe animal World in the Azerbaijan Sector of the Caspian Seaâ€?. /APA/
