In January-July of this year, 15,172 kWh of electricity was generated in Azerbaijan, which represents a 3% decrease year-on-year, APA-Economics reports this, citing the State Statistical Committee.
According to the data, 14,734.9 kWh of the electricity generated in the country during the reporting period accounted for marketable output (a decrease of 2.5%).
The largest share of electricity generated in the country — 11,441.5 kWh — came from thermal power plants, which is 8.7% less than in January-July 2025.
During January-February of this year, the remaining electricity generated in Azerbaijan was produced by hydropower plants, as well as other alternative and renewable energy sources.
It should also be noted that during the reporting period, wind power plants in Azerbaijan generated 606 million kWh of electricity, which represents a 22-fold increase year-on-year.
