Shahdeniz gas export increased by almost 3%

In January-May of the current year, 17 359 mln. cubic meters of gas was transported via the main gas pipelines of Azerbaijan and a 3% decrease was observed compared to the previous year, the State Statistics Committee told APA-Economics.

53,8% of gas transportation was implemented via the Baku-Tbilisi-Arzurum South Caucasus gas pipeline. Through this pipeline, the gas produced in the Shah Deniz gas condensate field is exported.

Thus, during the reporting period, 9471.6 mln. cubic meters of gas was transported via this pipeline (2.6 % increase).

Recall that last year, Azerbaijan transported 39,806.9 million cubic meters of natural gas through main gas pipelines, showing an increase of 1.4 percent compared to the previous year's figure.

54,8% of the gas transportation is carried out via the Baku-Tbilisi-Arzurum South Caucasus Pipeline. During the reporting period, 21,800.1 million cubic meters of gas were transmitted through this pipeline (a 4.8% increase compared to the 2022 figure).
