"In order to promptly and qualitatively meet the needs of the Armed Forces, large-scale modernization work is being carried out at defense industry enterprises, production areas are being renovated, and the level of digitalization and automation is being increased," said Minister of Defense Industry Vugar Mustafayev at the event "Professional Holiday of Employees of the Ministry of Defense Industry: 20-Year path of Development," APA reports.
The minister noted that as a result of increasing the production capabilities of the factories, timely and high-quality execution of state defense orders is ensured, and at the same time, export potential is being expanded.
Paying special attention to the role of the private sector in the defense industry, Vugar Mustafayev noted that currently 15 private companies operate in this field under a license, and these companies conduct production and research in drone technologies, artificial intelligence, electronics, radio-electronic warfare, missile systems and other high-tech areas. He also emphasized that the products of a number of private companies have already been delivered to the Armed Forces within the framework of state orders.
