“Georgia is working on a large-scale green corridor project and is strengthening cooperation with Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Bulgaria, and Romania in this process,” Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili said during an event dedicated to the country's Energy Workers' Day, APA's local bureau reports.
She stated that the Black Sea submarine power cable project is of strategic importance to Georgia.
According to the minister, the oil and gas sector is also part of Georgia's energy strategy.
“As a result of months of negotiations with the Azerbaijani government, we reached an agreement this year on the full operation of the Baku–Supsa oil pipeline. This brings economic benefits and also serves a strategic function. Georgia is further strengthening its position as a reliable route for transporting the Caspian Sea's energy resources to Europe,” the minister added.
