Azerbaijan reveals import figures for electric and hybrid vehicles

In January–September of this year, a total of 85,257 vehicles worth 1 billion 605 million 020 thousand US dollars were imported into Azerbaijan, the State Customs Committee told APA-Economics.

According to the information, this is respectively 26.5% and 28.6% more compared to the same period last year.

During the 9 months, 12,555 hybrid vehicles worth 263 million 999 thousand US dollars were imported into Azerbaijan. This represents a 2.8% decrease and a 17.2% increase on an annual basis.

During the period, the value of plug-in hybrid vehicles imported into the country increased 3.5 times, reaching 604 million 619 thousand US dollars, while the number rose 6.4 times to 31,873 units.

In the reporting period, 1,559 fully electric vehicles worth 48 million 210 thousand US dollars were imported into Azerbaijan. This represents a year-on-year decrease of 45.6% and 30.6%.
