“There are various oil and gas fields in Azerbaijan, if they operate fully, it will be possible to produce 30-40bn. and even 50bn. cu m gas in Azerbaijan per year,” he said.
Natig Aliyev said that in order to reach this figure, the second phase of Shah Deniz should be operational, production of casing-head gas in Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field should increase and Garabagh, Dan Ulduzu, Ashrafi, Absheron, Zafar, Alov, Mashal and Sharg fields should be fully operational.
The minister also noted that Azerbaijan may increase gas export, along with gas production, new pipelines should be constructed for this and carrying capacity of the present pipelines should increase.
Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline is the strongest pipeline of Azerbaijan at present. Its annual capacity is 20bn. cu m and if dynamics of natural gas production increases, its carrying capacity will possibly reach 32bn. cu m. /APA-Economics/
