The village residents and Samukh agriculture department prevented the spread of grasshoppers to other villages, but the risk still remains.
Chief of Samukh Agriculture Department Ziyad Abbasov said that grasshoppers mostly spread on the bank of Gavirli river.
“Farmers informed us of the event on June 2. Necessary medications were used to kill them. But it is not ruled out that grasshoppers will again attack within tow months,†he said.
The damage on farms is being assessed at present. /APA/
