Up to 80% of voters used their right to vote in Azerbaijani Consulate General in St. Petersburg -PHOTO

According to the information as of 17:00 local time in Azerbaijani Consulate General in St. Petersburg, 839 voters used their right to vote in the snap presidential elections of Republic of Azerbaijan, the consulate said, APA’s Russia bureau reports.

1030 voters were registered in the voter list of the polling station in Azerbaijani Consulate General.

During the voting process observers of the Commonwealth of Independent States Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (CIS PA) paid a visit to the polling station.

Stanislav Tkachenko, the expert of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD) said that the observers of CIS PA will monitor both the voting process and the vote counting process.

Note that 4 polling stations were set up in Russia regarding the snap presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Polling station No. 44 of Narimanov I constituency No 19. is operating in Azerbaijani Consulate General in St. Petersburg.

Note that voting in the presidential election is going on in Azerbaijan. Candidates for the presidency in the upcoming election include incumbent President Ilham Aliyev (New Azerbaijan Party), independent contenders Zahid Oruj and Fuad Aliyev, Razi Nurullayev (National Front Party), Fazil Mustafa (Great Order Party), Elshad Musayev (Great Azerbaijan Party), and Gudrat Gasanguliyev (Whole Azerbaijan Popular Front Party).

Polling stations are open for voters from 08:00, and to close at 19:00.
