"Although we did not witness the preparation process, today we have visited the 6 polling stations so far, and based on our observations, we can say that the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan meet international standards, Volodymyr Kreidenko, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Transport and Infrastructure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, head of the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani interparliamentary friendship group told journalists, APA reports.
He stated that everything necessary for the election process has been provided at a high level:
"The polling booths and ballots were fully prepared for the process. The main point is that necessary conditions have been created for observers, and there are no obstacles for them to closely monitor the process. Additionally, there is an important aspect of the elections held in Azerbaijan. Unlike many countries, Azerbaijan has a process of marking voters' fingers with ink. This prevents electoral fraud and makes it impossible for a citizen to vote twice. This is a commendable step. I wish the people of Azerbaijan to elect worthy candidates, and for each elected MP to, in turn, contribute to the nation."
