We are happy that we were invited by the Parliament of Azerbaijan to observe the elections as the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, said Secretary General of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly Mohammad Reza Majidi at a press briefing, APA reports.
“Yesterday, we participated in the parliamentary elections as observers and accompanied the voting process. I thank the Central Election Committee for the successful implementation of the election process. At the same time, I want to thank them for providing us with all the conditions for participation as observers. I should note that the parliamentary elections held in Azerbaijan were of great importance for me personally. Because the Milli Majlis attaches great importance to our Assembly. During the election process, we observed high voter turnout at polling stations. When we visited various polling stations, we observed that the voters went to the polling stations in good manner."
Mohammad Reza Majidi also added that the Central Election Commission had taken all measures to ensure transparency and security of ballot papers: “In the parliamentary elections held on September 1, Azerbaijan demonstrated progress in the electoral process. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the government, parliament and people of Azerbaijan. At the same time, I would like to thank the Central Election Commission for allowing us to travel to the country and accompany the election process here.”
