At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, the mission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization observed the extraordinary presidential elections held in Azerbaijan, said Zhang Ming, Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), at the briefing on the results of the snap presidential elections held in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
For me, participating in the historical election held in Azerbaijan was a great honor.
Representatives of SCO member states, legislative and executive bodies were represented in our mission," he added.
The Secretary-General called the invitation of the international observers by Azerbaijan an indicator of the transparency and democracy of the elections: “These elections are of great significance for the future of Azerbaijan.”
