“I hope these elections will be the beginning of the renewal process and reforms in Azerbaijan. Whoever wins with the voice and will of the people, they should go on doing helpful work for the future of Azerbaijan,” Fazil Mustafa the candidate for the presidency of the Great Consolidation Party, who used the right to vote in the extraordinary presidential elections told journalists, APA reports.
“We should protect our solidarity and unity regardless of results,” he noted.
Note that voting in the presidential election is going on in Azerbaijan. Candidates for the presidency in the upcoming election include incumbent President Ilham Aliyev (New Azerbaijan Party), independent contenders Zahid Oruj and Fuad Aliyev, Razi Nurullayev (National Front Party), Fazil Mustafa (Great Order Party), Elshad Musayev (Great Azerbaijan Party), and Gudrat Gasanguliyev (Whole Azerbaijan Popular Front Party).
Polling stations are open for voters from 08:00, and to close at 19:00.
