"We visited a total of 16 polling stations yesterday. We conducted observations in these stations throughout the day," Ali Asghar Mehammadi Sijani, Deputy Secretary General of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, said this at a press conference organized in connection with the extraordinary parliamentary elections held in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
He emphasized that the election was very transparent and they did not observe any negative situation: "This is a great democracy, so I congratulate the people of Azerbaijan."
The Deputy General Secretary of the PUIC also said that the people performing the control function at the polling stations worked very responsibly: "All the rights of the people were ensured."
He said that Islamic morality was followed in the elections.
