International media organizations have also started operating in Azerbaijan, said Mazahir Panahov, chairman of Azerbaijan's Central Election Commission (CEC), at the meeting of the Commission held today, APA reports.

CEC chairman noted the historical significance of these elections is related to the fact that they were held for the first time in the internationally recognized territories of Azerbaijan: "At present, we have created 26 polling stations in the liberated territories, in these polling stations about 23 thousand of our voters who are permanently registered and received deregistration cards, as well as those who are in the military our voters will vote. We have also asked international organizations to observe the elections in the liberated territories. In particular, we requested this from the OSCE Bureau of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights. We wish very much that representatives of international organizations will be there on the voting day.
