“I paid a visit to Shusha and Khankandi to observe the election process. The process was conducted transparently. My impressions are very good”, said Vitalie Jacot, the head of the delegation of the Moldovan Parliament, APA reports.

“Azerbaijan is very important to us as a strategic partner. We observed the election process in Khankandi and Shusha. Even though it was early in the morning, voter turnout was observed. I had a talk with the members of the Election Commission. I observed great optimism and hope on the faces of people who returned to their homes after 30 years. Many issues can be overcome with this confidence”, Vitalie Jacot said.

He also added that two years ago he was in Shusha representing the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group: "Now I have been to Shusha and Khankand again and I realized that Azerbaijan is on the right path. I did not observe any inappropriate attitude towards the property and houses that Armenian origin population left behind.”

Vitalie Jacot emphasized that Moldova supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan within the framework defined by international law: “ There are many aspects that unite us. Moldova will continue solidarity with Azerbaijan.”
