“Elections in Azerbaijan were held accordingly to the Constitution and Election Code. Azerbaijan also supports the documents for holding democratic elections,” said Osman Mesten, the head of Observers Mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) during the briefing held on results of monitoring of the extraordinary presidential elections held in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
He said that for the first time, the elections were held on all parts of Azerbaijan: “A part of our staff also did monitoring works in liberated territories - Shusha and Khankandi. The works done in the liberated territories were observed. Holding the elections in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan is a historical event. At the same time, holding elections in liberated territories is a significant occasion for both Azerbaijan and Türkiye.”
