The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) stated the extraordinary presidential elections held in the Republic of Azerbaijan on February 7, 2024, APA reports.
The statement reads: "At the invitation of the Government of Azerbaijan, a high-powered delegation of observers from the OIC General Secretariat was dispatched to monitor the early presidential elections held in the Republic of Azerbaijan on Wednesday 7 February 2024. Elections were held in all parts of the country.
The OIC team monitored three stages of the elections: pre-voting preparations, Election Day, and vote counting. The team also met with relevant bodies and parties and received a briefing about the voting process.
The OIC team concluded its monitoring functions and pointed out that the electoral process was conducted in a transparent, free, and organized manner, with a high turnout of voters to exercise their political and civic rights.
