CEC Chairman: 49 polling stations established in 37 countries regarding extraordinary presidential elections

"49 polling stations have been established in 37 countries regarding the extraordinary presidential elections," Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov said at a meeting of CEC held today, APA reports.

Note that the period allocated for the establishment of polling stations in connection with the extraordinary presidential elections in foreign countries ends tomorrow. According to Article 35.6 of the Election Code, at least 30 days before the voting day, polling stations must be established by the heads of diplomatic missions or consular offices of the Republic of Azerbaijan in areas where the voters are located for the voting of those who are in foreign countries on the voting day and who are consularly registered.

This period, regarding the extraordinary presidential elections, covers the period until January 8.

Note that on February 7, 2024, extraordinary presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan.
