So far, 1030 people have registered their candidacy for the post of MP in connection with the extraordinary parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, said Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission at today's meeting of CEC, APA reports.
Noted that 1,508 people were nominated for the post of MP in connection with the extraordinary parliamentary elections. The candidacy of 1,462 people nominated for the post of MP was confirmed, 1,420 people were given signature sheets, and 1,197 people returned their signature sheets.
The period allocated for submission of the election documents necessary for the registration of the candidates for the MP to the constituency ended on August 2.
Recall that extraordinary elections to the Milli Majlis in Azerbaijan have been scheduled for September 1.
