Azerbaijani CEC demands OSCE to monitor elections in liberated territories

“The Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan (CEC), for the first time, makes a special request, demands from international organizations that international observers, especially the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, to monitor the elections in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan,” said Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov at today’s press conference, APA reports.

The CEC Chairman said that the delegation of OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) have already visited the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, met with chairmen of constituencies: “Our special request consists of that the international organizations should visit the liberated territories as well on Election Day. This would mean a respect to Azerbaijani people. Some organizations have already said that they will go to the liberated territories on the Election Day.”
