Azerbaijan held elections at high level - Member of Russian CEC

“I congratulate Azerbaijani people from the bottom of my heart,” said Anton Lopatin, member of Russia’s Central Election Commission who participated in the observers mission of Commonwealth of Independent States Parliamentary Assembly (CIS PA) during the briefing held on the results of monitoring of extraordinary presidential elections held in Azerbaijan, APA reports.

He said that despite the elections were extraordinary, the elections were held at a high level:

“Although time was limited. But the elections were organized at a high level. Electronic web cameras were also installed in the polling stations. This was very good case.”

Note that on February 7, 2024, Azerbaijan held a snap presidential election. Candidates for the presidency in the election included incumbent President Ilham Aliyev (New Azerbaijan Party), independent contenders Zahid Oruj and Fuad Aliyev, Razi Nurullayev (National Front Party), Fazil Mustafa (Great Order Party), Elshad Musayev (Great Azerbaijan Party), and Gudrat Gasanguliyev (Whole Azerbaijan Popular Front Party).

Noted that Ilham Aliyev won the presidential election in Azerbaijan with 92.05 percent of the votes
