"The number of citizens who voted in abroad in the presidential elections was double the amount compared to the previous elections," Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov said at the CEC meeting today, APA reports.
Mazahir Panahov noted that this was possible thanks to the joint cooperation of CEC and the Minister of Foreign Affairs: "This was a historical election for us. Because it was held for the first time in the whole recognized territories of the country at the international level."
CEC Chairman noted that the municipal elections will be held for the first time in the liberated territories of Shusha, Lachin, Aghali village of Zangilan, Aghdara and Fuzuli in autumn.
