Uzbekistan makes proposal to OTS member states on Simplified Customs Corridor

Uzbekistan has proposed to start pilot transportation in a few directions within the territories of member countries of Organization of Turkic States (OTS) amid future application of the Agreement on the Simplified Customs Corridor, said Akmalkhuja Mavlonov, chairman of the Customs Committee under Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan at the X meeting of the Directors of Customs Administration of OTS, APA-Economics reports.

“I propose to start pilot transportations in a few directions within the territories of our country with a goal of future application of the Agreement on the Simplified Customs Corridor and use the current mutual information exchange channels. We want our entrepreneurs to benefit from this document” he highlighted.

According to him, his country actively supports the implementation of the Transcaspian customs transit portal which has been intended by Azerbaijan: “We request to accelerate signing the legal ground of using Transit portal”.
