Turkic Union of Composers established

The Turkic Union of Composers has been established within the framework of the First Congress of Composers of the Turkic World, APA reports.

The Turkic Union of Composers (TUC) was founded by representatives of leading music organizations from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Hungary.

It should be noted that the establishment of the Turkic Union of Composers was formalized with the signing of the Baku Declaration. This laid the foundation for permanent professional cooperation among composers, musicologists, performers, conservatories, music academies, and creative unions of Turkic countries.

The First Congress of Composers of the Turkic World is being held on September 18–20, 2026, as part of the 18th Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival. The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation in cooperation with ICESCO's Baku Regional Office, the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan, and the Azerbaijan National Conservatory.
