Azerbaijan's People's Artist, actor Rasim Balayev has passed away.

Ali Isa Jabbarov, secretary of the Azerbaijan Cinematographers Union, told APA about this .

It was reported that Rasim Balayev died at the Memorial clinic in Istanbul, where he was receiving treatment.

Note that Rasim Balayev was born on August 8, 1948 in Agsu district. He graduated from the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts in 1969. Rasim Balayev first starred in a small role in the play "Stars Do Not Go Out" at the Baku Film Studio. He won the love of the audience for his roles in the films "Nasimi", "Babek" and "Dede Gorgud". The film actor, who works at the "Azerbaijanfilm" film studio, also worked at the theater studio. In addition to major and difficult roles, Rasim Balayev also played small roles. He played episodic roles in such films as "This Sweet Word, Freedom", "Your First Hour", "The Scene of Happiness", "I Will Still Come Back", "Midnight of the First Day". He starred in films at "Uzbekfilm", "Mosfilm" and other studios.

He was the secretary of the Azerbaijan Cinematographers Union from 1990 to January 18, 2013. On May 31, 2022, he was elected chairman of the Azerbaijan Cinematographers Union.
