Azerbaijan cannot send advertising spot to the Cannes Lions 55th International Advertising Festival

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova-APA. Cannes Lions 55th International Advertising Festival takes place in Cannes, France. Azerbaijani representation to Cannes Lions 2008 was established for the Azerbaijanâ€™s participation in the festival, but advertising companies operated in the country donâ€™t show interest to Cannes Lions 2008, said the festivalâ€™s Azerbaijani representative Jahid Hasanov told APA. â€œParts of the companies said they were not ready for this work despite our repeatedly efforts and offers. Another parts of the companies said they had no interest to participate in such festival. It is terrible that some advertising companies have nothing on the festival. It concerns us that Azerbaijan can not send advertising spots to such respected festival in the world attracting more than 25 000 works every year. It is important that the festivalâ€™s first Caucasian representation was opened in Azerbaijan. As a result of recent economic development in Azerbaijan, advertising investment increased by 25 percent in the country. Azerbaijan takes third place in the world and second behind Russia among the CIS countries for the advertising investment capacity. We are very glad that Azerbaijan achieved it as a result of purposeful policy in the country. Unfortunately illogical and slow show-programs and narrow-talented â€œsingersâ€ quickly find the sponsors, but no company shows interest to the popularization of Azerbaijani music, architectural monuments and cuisine at the international arenaâ€.
