Zhejiang Governor: We are ready to operate regular trains with Azerbaijan, create industrial and logistics parks

Zhejiang Province is ready to establish a regular communication mechanism with Azerbaijani state departments, enterprises and chambers of commerce regarding the operation of regular trains and the creation of industrial and logistics parks, said Zhejiang Deputy Governor Ke Ketsin at an event held within the framework of the 5th anniversary of the European Railway Express route and the welcoming ceremony of the 237th train (Yivu - Baku) passing through the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, APA-Economics reports.

According to him, Azerbaijan, which is a key hub along the ancient Silk Road, is an active participant in the "One Belt, One Road" initiative: "With the deep integration of this initiative and Azerbaijan's Silk Road revitalization strategy, the locational advantages of Azerbaijan as a crossroads connecting the Eurasian continent are becoming increasingly prominent. The China-Europe Railway Express is a remarkable achievement in the joint construction of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative. In the past 10 years, Zhejiang Province has attached great importance to it and actively promoted it. We have opened 24 regular routes to Europe, Central Asia and other destinations. In total, more than 14 thousand trains are running."

He noted that goods from this province are supplied to more than 50 countries and 160 cities on the Eurasian continent: "We export more than 50 thousand products in 26 major categories."

He noted that Azerbaijan is a key hub of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route: "Thanks to the in-depth cooperation and joint development path in improving the efficiency of China-Europe freight trains, organizing cargo receipts and developing markets, Azerbaijan has become an indispensable bridge connecting us to the European market and providing strong support for the development of international trade routes."

Ketszin emphasized that Zhejiang Province is ready to establish a regular communication mechanism with Azerbaijani state departments, enterprises and chambers of commerce to deepen mutual cooperation in areas such as the operation of regular trains, the creation of industrial and logistics parks and the mutual recognition of standards: "We will also expand comprehensive cooperation in the fields of digital economy, "green energy", tourism and culture."
