Last year, the volume of goods transported through transport corridors passing through Azerbaijan amounted to 33,258 thousand tons, and the freight turnover was 13,198.3 million ton-km. Compared to the same period of the previous year, there was an increase of 1.4% and 2.5%, respectively, the State Statistics Committee told APA-Economics.
The volume of goods transported via the East-West transport corridor was 16,982.4 thousand tons, as well as 8,322.3 thousand tons via the Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor, 9,896.5 thousand tons via the North-South transport corridor, 5,984.9 thousand tons via the North-West transport corridor, and 394.2 thousand tons via the South-West transport corridor.
According to the information, 15,277.6 thousand tons, or 46%, were transported by railway transport, 10,090 thousand tons, or 30.3%, by road transport, and 7,890.4 thousand tons, or 23.7%, by sea transport.
During the reporting period, transit cargo accounted for 56.6% or 18,840.1 thousand tons of cargo transported through transport corridors.
