During January-September of 2024, the volume of cargo transported in the transport corridors passing through the territory of Azerbaijan amounted to 24 620,1 thousand tons, with a cargo turnover of 9905,5 million ton-kilometers, APA-Economics reports citing State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
Compared to the same period of the previous year, an increase of 0,3% and 2,1% was observed, respectively.
According to the Committee, the volume of cargo transported through the East-West transportation corridor was 12765,3 thousand tons, including 6522,1 thousand tons through the Europe-Caucasus-Asia transportation corridor, 7022,9 thousand tons through the North-South transportation corridor, 4552,6 thousand tons through the North-West transportation corridor, and 279,3 thousand tons through the South-West transportation corridor.
11304,2 thousand tons or 45,9 % of the cargo was transported by rail, 7353,6 thousand tons or 29,9 % was transported by road, 5962,3 thousand tons or 24,2 % was transported by sea transport.
