Ukraine intends to resume its activities in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), said the Chairman of "Ukrainian Railways" JSC, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, during the "Middle Corridor via the Caspian Sea" forum held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
"I would like to emphasize the importance of the work done by all participants of the TITR for the development of this transport corridor. It is hard to assess the significance of an alternative route from East Asia to Western Europe, and the increase in transportation along it speaks for itself," said Oleksandr Pertsovskyi.
According to him, Ukraine had to suspend its work in TITR due to geopolitical events.
"Today, we are pleased to announce our intention to resume work in the project," Oleksandr Pertsovskyi emphasized.
He added that active work is being carried out on restoring ferry connections with Georgia, which will not only deliver the TITR route to European countries via Ukraine but also revive the previous economic ties between the countries.
