The Black Sea and the Caspian Sea are important energy corridors, said the World Bank’s Regional Director for the South Caucasus, Rolande Pryce, at the I Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, APA-Economics reports.
She said that the planned Black Sea submarine cable will play a transformative role. It will enhance energy security, digital connectivity, and integration between the South Caucasus, Central Asia, and Europe:
"This initiative, with landing points in Georgia and Romania, will connect the electricity and digital markets of the South Caucasus with the EU. If the commitment to regional integration is maintained, other South Caucasus countries can also greatly benefit from this."
