The global economy is experiencing stagnation due to sanctions, geopolitical tensions, and disruptions to supply chains, but this slowdown has largely bypassed the countries of Central Asia, which are demonstrating an example of constructive cooperation, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated at the International Peace and Trust Forum held in Ashgabat, APA-Economics reports, citing TASS.

“As a result of rising geopolitical tensions, international sanctions, disruptions in trade supply chains, technological competition, and many other factors, the global economy has faced its most serious challenges. The global economy is slowing down. Fortunately, this stagnation has largely passed Central Asian countries by,” Tokayev emphasized.

The Kazakh president also noted that amid international tensions, the importance of resilient transit links, reliable transport routes, and modern digital solutions capable of ensuring continuity and predictability in trade has increased manyfold.

“In this regard, Central Asian states are setting an example of active and constructive regional cooperation, to which regular meetings held within the framework of the Consultative Council of Central Asian leaders make a significant contribution,” Tokayev said.

He also stressed the importance of expanding countries’ transit potential and developing transport routes.
