Kazakh official: Azerbaijan played major role in implementation of BTK railway project

Azerbaijan invested substantial funds in the implementation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project, Deputy Chairman of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways) Erlan Kulshibayev told journalists, APA's local bureau reports.

According to him, the modernization of the railway line has been successfully completed.

“Undoubtedly, Azerbaijan played a major role in the implementation of the project. The participating countries carried out coordinated work together. As a transit country, Kazakhstan is attracting larger volumes of cargo to this route,” he stressed.

Erlan Kulshibayev described the official commissioning of the railway line as a historic moment.

He added that Kazakhstan is pleased to be part of this process.
