Georgian Railways: Strategic BTK project completed through effective cooperation with Azerbaijan

“The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project has been completed thanks to effective cooperation with Azerbaijan,” Director General of Georgian Railways Lasha Abashidze told journalists, APA's local bureau reports.

He noted that a new transport project is being added to the Middle Corridor today.

“This is an extremely important and strategic project. The project will also strengthen Georgia’s transit capabilities,” Lasha Abashidze added.

Note that an event marking the reopening of the modernized Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, one of the region’s key freight transportation routes, will be held today at the Akhalkalaki railway and logistics complex in Georgia.
