Georgia plans to triple the cargo capacity of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway by the end of 2025, said Ketevan Kebuladze, a representative of the EnterpriseGeorgia agency under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, during her speech at the Asia SME Monitor 2025 seminar in Baku, APA-Economics reports.

According to her, the BTK project is a key part of Georgia's regional transport relations and strengthens the country's role as a strategic bridge between Europe and Asia.

The representative noted that the volume of cargo on the "Middle Corridor" increased 15 times in 2024 compared to the previous year. This shows that the coordinated infrastructure policy of the countries of the region is yielding real results.

She added that Georgia is also renewing east-west highways, continuing the construction of a deep-sea port, and forming digital logistics corridors through port community systems.
