The geopolitical situation in the region shows that President Aliyev's vision of developing a transport corridor between the East and the West — as part of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative — is bearing fruit, Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov told journalists, APA-Economics reports.
"The Middle Corridor is developing rapidly. We see an increase in cargo flows through this corridor, and this is beneficial for all countries in the region. In particular, Central Asian countries understand the importance of this corridor and are increasingly supporting the multiple and alternative transport routes offered by Azerbaijan together with partners in the South Caucasus," S. Sharifov added.
