The TRUMP route complements the existing energy infrastructure and projects in the region, including the Southern Gas Corridor initiated by Azerbaijan and the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline, and adds flexibility to the energy and business sectors by offering additional routes, said Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov at the I Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that this route can be used not only for traditional energy but also for the transportation of electricity, green energy, and hydrogen. This could change the essence of energy connectivity in the region.
The third direction is geographic coverage. This route opens new opportunities for delivering energy to Europe via Türkiye and Armenia, as well as to the Middle East.
“For example, Azerbaijan has already started exporting gas to Syria. This gas is used for electricity production in Syria, and demand will increase. Through this route, it will also be possible to transfer energy to Syria and other Middle Eastern countries,” O. Zeynalov added.
