The opening of the Zangezur Corridor will make a significant contribution to the increase of trade and transit flows between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, said Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rahman Hummetov at the II Azerbaijan–Türkiye Investment Forum, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that the Horadiz-Aghband project, one of the main parts of the construction of the Middle Corridor within Azerbaijan, has already been 69% completed. At the same time, the construction of the highway has reached 95%. Both roads are planned to be fully operational by the end of next year. Simultaneously, modernization works on transport infrastructure have already begun in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Naturally, the works started between Kars and Nakhchivan, within the territory of brotherly Türkiye, and the construction of the railway will ensure the full utilization of the Zangezur Corridor’s potential.
