Well-coordinated transport corridors are of great importance for ensuring global food security, said Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov during a panel discussion at the conference titled “Modern Agricultural Cooperation as the Basis of Sustainable Development and the Guarantee of Food Security” held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that, in this regard, strengthening connectivity and ensuring the uninterrupted movement of cargo have become a common priority:
“Located at the intersection of the main East-West and North-South trade routes, Azerbaijan serves as a natural bridge between Europe and Asia. Based on this advantage, the country has paid special attention to the development of the Middle Corridor, which is at the center of the national strategy.
In order to turn this strategic vision into a concrete action plan, Azerbaijan adopted the National Transit Action Plan for 2024–2026. This document defines a broad roadmap for strengthening the country’s transit potential.”
