The strategic importance of the Middle Corridor has increased, and Azerbaijan is one of the key links, Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye Cevdet Yilmaz said at the II Azerbaijan-Türkiye Investment Forum held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.

According to him, the attractiveness and usability of the Middle Corridor have increased significantly after the Russia-Ukraine war. The Vice President noted that in this regard, relations with Azerbaijan, one of the main components of the Middle Corridor, have become more strategic.

C. Yilmaz emphasized that the agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia on August 8, 2025, which includes a roadmap for ensuring peace, is an important stage in terms of regional stability. In his opinion, the full implementation of this peace process will create a solid foundation for stability and prosperity in the South Caucasus.

The Vice President added that this process will also make a significant contribution to the further deepening of economic and transport relations between Central Asian and Turkic states, and Türkiye and Europe. He said that the opening of the Zangezur connection will further increase the competitiveness of the Middle Corridor.

C. Yilmaz also drew attention to the growing role of Azerbaijan both regionally and globally, noting that the transformation processes carried out by the country in the energy sector are being closely monitored.
